News: ‘Have your say’ on transport in South East Wales

The South East Wales Transport Commission has launched ‘Have your Say’ an online survey to gather ideas and suggestions for tackling congestion on the M4 and improving transport across the region.

The commission was established by Welsh Ministers last year to consider ways to tackle congestion on the M4 and surrounding roads. The commission has been asked to look at alternatives to the relief road. It will put forward a broad package of recommendations that include road, bus, rail and active travel.

News: A magical night at Cwmbran library

A fun filled fully booked Harry Potter evening took place on Thursday 6th February at Cwmbran library.

Children parked up their brooms, before a short reading of the Goblet of Fire took place. Next up was dragon making, the creation of a LEGO maze for Hagrid’s little monsters, a treasure hunt for magical items, and finally, children designed a new magical house for the TriWizard tournament.

News: Tackling loneliness and social isolation through connected communities

Loneliness and social isolation are often thought of as issues that affect older people, however they are increasingly becoming issues that can be experienced by us all.

The Welsh Government’s  2017-18 National Survey for Wales showed 16% of the population aged over 16 years said they felt lonely –  with younger people more likely to report feeling lonely than older people.
