Torfaen’s Youngest Engineer Announced

The search was on for Torfaen’s Youngest Engineer.

We were blown away after receiving over 165 entries from across Torfaen.

We took a trip to Ysgol Gyfun Gwynllyw to surprise our winner during her assembly, Caitlyn Smith from Cwmbran!

Trainee engineers at Pro Steel Engineering turned Caitlyn’s hand drawn picture into a real-life statue.

Keep your eyes peeled, as it will be placed for everyone to enjoy forever somewhere in Torfaen very soon.

This project was supported by Torfaen Voluntary Alliance, Pro Steel Engineering, Coleg Gwent, Torfaen County Borough Council and the Welsh Government’s Foundational Economy Challenge Fund.
