On this edition we’re joined by
Tom Grace – Mental Capacity Act Strategic Lead Aneurin Bevan University Health
Board and Sarah Livingstone from the Gwent Regional Partnership Team.
Ar y rhifyn hwn, mae Tom Grace –
Arweinydd Strategol y Ddeddf Galluedd Meddyliol Bwrdd Iechyd Prifysgol Aneurin
Bevan a Sarah Livingstone o Dîm Partneriaeth Ranbarthol Gwent yn ymuno â ni.
They’re talking about the
changes that are coming to a very important piece of legislation called the
Mental Capacity (Amendment) Act 2019. This legislation introduces a new legal
framework that ensures people who lack capacity to consent to their care or
treatment arrangements, are protected and their human rights upheld. Tom and Sarah answer a few questions to help
us to understand what change is coming, helping citizens and professionals to participate in the now live public consultation and have an
informed say.
Maent yn sôn am y newidiadau sy’n dod
i ddarn pwysig iawn o ddeddfwriaeth o’r enw Deddf Galluedd Meddyliol (Diwygio)
2019. Mae’r ddeddfwriaeth hon yn cyflwyno fframwaith cyfreithiol newydd sy’n
sicrhau bod pobl nad oes ganddynt alluedd i gydsynio i’w trefniadau gofal neu
driniaeth, yn cael eu diogelu a bod eu hawliau dynol yn cael eu cynnal. Mae Tom
a Sarah yn ateb ychydig o gwestiynau i’n helpu i ddeall pa newid sy’n dod, gan
helpu dinasyddion a gweithwyr proffesiynol i gymryd rhan yn yr ymgynghoriad
cyhoeddus sydd bellach yn fyw a chael llais gwybodus.

wishes to discuss the change in detail as part of a community or group or
