Torfaen Food Mapping Survey

On behalf of the Create Torfaen’s Rural Local Action Group, Miller Research is currently undertaking an extensive food mapping study of Torfaen, to support the progression towards Torfaen becoming a Sustainable Food Place.

Sustainable food places are a partnership programme led by the Soil Association, Food Matters and Sustain. The network brings together food partnerships from towns, cities, boroughs, districts and counties across the UK that are driving innovation and best practice on all aspects of healthy and sustainable food. The Torfaen food mapping project aims to build a picture of local food webs, their character, benefits, the challenges faced and the impact that these networks have on people, their livelihoods and the character of Torfaen. Through this mapping exercise, the research hopes to develop a comprehensive map of the borough’s local food system, ranging from producers to third sector service providers to help identify key partners in the next stage of the project – to form the Torfaen Food Partnership and develop the development of a Food Strategy.

The findings of the research will be kept anonymous. There are no right or wrong answers – we are just looking for open and honest feedback. The survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete.
