More local groups funded with the Community Winter Support Fund

Another £2,000 awarded for the Community Winter Support Fund

With the winter now upon us, TVA (Torfaen Voluntary Alliance) understands how tough the cold and darker nights will be and in doing so, created the Community Winter Support Fund.

The purpose of this grant is to help and support those under pressure during the winter period. The fund can be accessed by third sector and not for profit organisations/groups to support any age group and we welcome your ideas on how to do so.

The funding panel has recently met and has decided on the following:

Organisation

Project Description

Amount

The HWB

They are aiming to target the most desperate users of their food share service, some of the most marginalized families and children in the Cwmbran and Croesyceiliog area, and provide them with Christmas hampers containing food, toys, books, and activities to do together.

£2,040

Age Connects

They would use the funding to deliver a further 20 Christmas afternoon tea box to socially isolated older people living throughout Torfaen. They recently received funding through the Community Winter Support Fund for 30 boxes and the spaces were filled within 24 hours. They aim to deliver the afternoon tea boxes the week beginning the 21st of December 2021.

£250

This is great news I will let the team know; they will be over the moon!
