Gwent Police & Crime Commissioner’s Annual Report 20/21

Gwent Police & Crime Commissioner’s annual report sets out how he’s delivered against the priorities in the Police and Crime Plan.

It is an important document which is scrutinised independently by the Gwent Police and Crime Panel to ensure that he’s doing an efficient and effective job on behalf of the public.

The impact of Covid-19 throughout the 2020/21 financial year was substantial. Inevitably, this had a significant impact on how his office and him undertook our roles and upon what they focused our efforts. It inevitably led to much of the planned work being done in different ways, as efforts were rightly focused on enabling Gwent Police to respond as efficiently and effectively as possible to the disruption caused by the pandemic.

However, despite these challenges, they still delivered, supported or scrutinised substantial pieces of work and reacted quickly to the constantly changing environment caused by Covid-19. They are incredibly proud of how flexible and resilient both his team and Gwent Police have been in adapting to the changes required to respond to Covid-19 and enable recovery.
