Torfaen Youth Led Grant aims to support a range of small volunteering projects and activities, led and carried out by young people, with applications selected and recommended by a panel of young people aged 14-25. The Torfaen Youth Led Grants scheme aims to prioritise delivery of volunteering opportunities with and for a diverse range of young people (aged 14-25) and particularly: Young people from disadvantaged communities Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic communities. Young people with physical or learning disabilities. Young people volunteering through the medium of Welsh Requests for up to a maximum of £1000 will be considered. The Electoral Reform Society’s Missing Voices project was launched on 10th July. The project aims to have an honest conversation about voting and how people across Wales feel about politics. It will also examine the recent increase in political engagement and ask how we can sustain that. The Electoral Reform Society are aiming to talk to as many people as possible in the country, specifically looking to engage with people who don’t vote (or vote sporadically) and hear their stories. A further Expression of Interest window has opened. Grants are primarily aimed at LEADER Local Action Groups and other community-based organisations. The Rural Community Development Fund has been set up to enable for small-scale infrastructure projects to improve community cohesion in rural areas of Wales. The Fund is intended to support: Improvement or expansion of local basic services. Community transport and connectivity. Renewable energy projects. Village renewal and public amenities. Financial assistance is available to local groups for the development of sporting opportunities and physical activities in Torfaen. Objectives of Fund The aim of the scheme is to support sporting activities that: Encourage more people to be more active, more often. Raise the standard of existing activities. Grants of up to £1,500 are available. Match Funding Restrictions The applicant will be expected to make a contribution if the project total exceeds the maximum grant available.
