Torfaen Carers Centre are holding an EGM (Extraordinary General Meeting) to discuss the future of the centre. The meeting will take place at Torfaen Carers Centre, 3 Central Mews off Crane Street, Pontypool NP4 6LY on Thursday 31st August at 11am. All are welcome.
Financial assistance is available to local groups for the development of sporting opportunities and physical activities in Torfaen. Objectives of Fund The aim of the scheme is to support sporting activities that: Encourage more people to be more active, more often. Raise the standard of existing activities. Grants of up to £1,500 are available. Match Funding Restrictions The applicant will be expected to make a contribution if the project total exceeds the maximum grant available. Who Can Apply Applications will be accepted from any group which holds a bank account in their organisation’s name. Examples of eligible groups include: Sports Clubs or Associations. Youth Clubs. The Big Lottery Fund has published updated guidance information for applicants to their Awards for All programme in Wales. The Big Lottery Fund is now offering grants of between £300 and £10,000 to voluntary and community organisations, schools and statutory bodies in order to help improve local communities and the lives of people most in need. To be eligible for funding projects must meet at least one of the following priorities: Bring people together and build strong relationships in and across communities. Improve the places and spaces that matter to communities. Enable more people to fulfil their potential by working to address issues at the earliest possible stage. Gwent N-gage is the new Young Persons Drug and Alcohol Service for Gwent, an innovative new service from Drugaid. As part of this exciting new service we are offering free training to all professionals that work with young people and concerned others to help them identify substance use and misuse, to refer into other services and to provide basic support and information to people around their substance use. We offer sessions solely looking at young persons issues. The entry level (Talking To) training is compulsory for all subsequent sessions for N-gage.
