Gwanwyn – Community Grant Scheme Opens for Application Cultural and community organisations from across Wales can apply for small grants to enable them to participate in the annual Gwanwyn festival in May 2017. Gwanwyn, which means spring in Welsh, is a month-long national festival held across Wales in May each year celebrating creativity in older age. It is a collaborative initiative between key national organisations led by Age Cymru, and funded by the Arts Council of Wales and the Welsh Government. Greggs Foundation’s Environmental Grants Scheme Opens The Greggs Foundation’s Environmental Grants scheme has opened and welcomes applications from not-for-profit organisations and schools in Great Britain. Using money from the 5p levy on carrier bag sales in Greggs shops, the Greggs Foundation has established the Environmental Grants scheme, offering grants for projects which make a difference to local areas. Preference will be given to projects which include one of more of the following aspects: Improving the local environment. Insuring involvement of local communities. Delivering a sustainable and measurable difference. Supporting people in need. Torfaen Youth Service would like to offer your young people the opportunity to apply for a grant of up to £2,000 for young person led projects, activities and initiatives. Application forms must be returned to samantha.gray@torfaen.gov.uk by 14th October 2016 for a decision to be made the following week.  For those who are successful, funding will be allocated by a group of young people from the Youth Service, who will meet applicants as part of the approval process. Heart Research UK and SUBWAY Healthy Heart Grants – Deadline for Wales The Heart Research UK and SUBWAY Healthy Heart Grants programme is currently accepting applications from groups in Wales until 3 October 2016. The Healthy Heart Grants scheme is a result of a partnership between the Heart Research UK (HRUK) and the SUBWAY franchise. The money for the grants is raised by SUBWAY staff and customers through in-store fundraising and collection boxes located throughout the UK. Grants of between £1,000 and £10,000 are available for not-for-profit organisations that have a new and innovative project designed to promote heart health and to prevent or reduce the risks of heart disease in specific groups or communities.
