Community Food/Nutrition skills – free course

What is the course?
The course is aimed at providing a standardised programme of community food and nutrition knowledge and skills that will support you in your role. It has been developed by Dietitians across Wales and will be delivered by local Dietitians.

Course content:

Healthy Eating
Nutrition and health
Weight Management
Factors effecting food choice and healthy
eating on a budget.
Changing eating habits and goal setting
Understanding food labeling
Children and Young Peoples nutrition
Nutrition issues in men and women
Recipe adaptation and meal planning
Evaluation and completing case portfolio

What time commitment is involved?
The course consists of 20 hours of teaching delivered at times negotiated to meet learner needs and a small amount of private study. There is no exam; however participants will be required to keep a portfolio which will be assessed on course completion.
