ADVOCACY – THE GOLDEN THREAD
Co-producing the next steps for Advocacy in Gwent
There are still places available at these open workshops to be held in March – they are open to anyone interested in co-producing advocacy services across Gwent
North Gwent: General Office, Ebbw Vale – 13 March 2018
South Gwent: Rodney Parade, Newport – 15 March 2018
Both events will start with brunch at 9.30am and end by 1pm. There is no cost for attendance.
Purpose of the events
To bring together citizens, service recipients, carers, service providers, social services and health commissioners, and anyone with an interest in co-producing an integrated approach to commissioning advocacy services across the Gwent local authorities and Aneurin Bevan Health Board.
The Golden Thread Advocacy Programme (GTAP) is funded by Welsh Government and led by Age Cymru to support implementation of the Part 10 Code of Practice under the Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act. This places a new requirement on local authorities and health boards to arrange provision of Independent Professional Advocacy for people in certain circumstances. In Gwent GTAP is supporting development of a new regional strategy for all forms of advocacy.
These workshops are designed to help identify the key issues for the strategy to address, and to consider how advocacy can be co-produced by citizens, providers and commissioners.
