HLF Place of Worship Fund Wales Re-Opens
Formally constituted faith groups and denominations based in Wales can apply for grants to support projects that involve urgent structural repairs to public places of worship in Wales that are listed at Grade I, II* or II.
The Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) offer grants of between £10,000 and £250,000 to formally constituted faith groups and denominations which are responsible for maintaining and repairing their place of worship. This programme is also designed to encourage more people and a wider range of people to take an interest in the place of worship and to help care for it in the future.
Priority is given to structural repairs that are urgently required within the next two years and that have been clearly identified and defined in a condition survey such as a Quinquennial Inspection.
Applications go through a two-round process.
- At the first round, HLF assess the application in three months, and then it goes to the next decision meeting.
- The development phase can take up to 12 months, depending on the complexity of the project.
- At the second round, HLF will assess the application in three months and give a decision.
The deadlines for applications are 5 December 2016, 6 March 2017, 5 June 2017 and 21 August 2017.
