Pontypool & Blaenavon Railway – 1960’s Weekend

1960’s Weekend 2nd – 4th May

Celebrate the 1960s at Blaenavon Heritage Railway May 2nd – 4th. It was the end of an era for steam trains. The railway will be hosting a range of beers and ciders from local breweries through the weekend, on the buffet carriage, which will be transformed into a 1960s pub. The tearoom will have a special menu including some 1960s favourites like Black Forest Gateau & cheese with pineapple on sticks. Why not dress to impress in 1960s style or test your 1960s knowledge in the family quiz? As well as the Emporium being open there will be crafts stalls and face painting in the tearoom. Outside a range of 1960s vintage transport has been invited to attend, to complete the feel of the era. Trains run from 11am till 4pm at Furnace Sidings, Bleanavon Heritage Railway next to Garn Lakes, on the B4248 at Garn yr Erw near Blaenavon NP4 9SF.
